FORMED AND TAKING SHAPE OF UZBEK THEATRE (HISTORY OF UZBEK THEATRE) Formed and taking shape of National Uzbek theatre art has deep history. Academic Mamajon Rahmonov has confirmed in his scientific researches that elements of theatre art are in Central Asia and especially in our country was founded in the 3 – 1 century before our era. Scientists are confirmed that there are described events and heroes of European tragedies in archaeological items, piece of ceramic, pictures which were drawn in different dresses of women among the founded archaeological items. But those shows where and how staged at that times? Were here available buildings which are looked like to Greek amphitheatre in our Republic? This question is solved, when there are founded remnants of amphitheatre in Surkhandarya oasis, side of Termiz city (old name of city is Oy – khonim (Lady - moon)). And also there are founded masks and little statues of humorist – clown actors in Afrosiob district of Samarqand region. It means that there were available square shows which are based traditional art show of nation in our country.
This type of art is developed year by year and finally mixed and added to the national traditions of Uzbek nation.
Clowning, comedian and also puppet play of theatre art is helped to development of European theatre in our country. European theatres are begun to come to Turkistan at the ending of 19th century and the beginning 20 th century. Educator scientists Zokirjon Furqat, Ahmad Donish, Mahmudkhuja Behbudy, Abdullah Avlony, Mannon Uygur, Abdurauf Fitrat, Chulpon and Khamza Khakimzoda Niyozy were founders of new typed theatre.
The drama “Patricidal” by Mahmudkhuja Behbudy (1875-1919) was staged in 1911. This drama had been shown in “Nation house” of Samarqand city January 15, 1914. And then it had been staged in Tashkent at the group of “Turon” of Abdullah Avlony. Current National Uzbek Academic theatre was opened especially on that day. To development of this theatre serviced famous actors Abror Hidoyatov, Masuma Korayeva, Sora Eshonturayeva, Etim Bobojonov, Zamira Hidoyatova, Maria Kuznesova, Sadikhon Tabibullayev, Sharif Qayumov, Olim Khujayev, Shukur Burkhonov, Nabi Rahimov with Mannon Uygur. They laid the foundation of modern Uzbek theatre art.
Today there are over than 37 theatres in Tashkent city, Republic of Qaraqalpaghistan and other regions. And there stage over than 150 shows on those theatres every year. Including those there are ten theatres and one theatre studio “Diydor” (Image) in Tashkent city. And also there available many owner theatre studios and favorite pastime groups like “Ilhom” (Inspiration), “Aladdin”, “Turon”, “Muloqot” (Meet), “Eski machit” (Old mosque). Those theatre studios and groups do their best to show good shows to the spectators.
